If you live near one of these locations, you might consider attending a local training and becoming an active Sidewalk Advocate, offering loving, life-affirming alternatives to women and men entering the abortion center. The spirit is peaceful and the effectiveness of this method is undeniable — simply because it’s based in sharing the love of Christ!

DEVOTIONAL (June 1 – July 31, 2016): “Like Lambs Among Wolves”

Verse(s): “Have I not commanded you? Only be strong and courageous. Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9
Reflection: Jesus told His disciples that He was sending them out like lambs among wolves. That was true then, and it’s true now. The enemy has never stopped prowling around, seeking whom he may devour.
But God has told us to go out and love. He has commanded us — as we see in the quote above from the book of Joshua. God calls us to love, and when we love, we will defeat the enemy.
It won’t always be easy. That’s what strength and courage are for. We wouldn’t need to be strong and courageous if it were easy. But He tells us not to tremble or be dismayed – because He is with us wherever we go.
Sidewalk Advocates for Life is beginning work in new locations. That is “wherever we go.” We will be taking the peaceful, prayerful, loving presence of Jesus into new areas, facing the enemy in those places. Like lambs among wolves… but we are to be strong and courageous. Because He is with us.
And we know that greater is He who is in us, than he who is in the world. God has already defeated sin and death. We are just the ambassadors, expressing that good news to people who desperately need to hear it, before they make bad decisions that they will regret for life.
Faith Challenge: To pray fervently and without fear that God’s presence will become evident in the new locations where Sidewalk Advocates for Life is beginning work!
