Dear Friend of Life:
Last Wednesday, Project Defending Life, a pro-life pregnancy center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, was broken into; the perpetrator set fire to the chapel and a room containing pro-life literature, thus, destroying this life-saving facility.
Our local Sidewalk Advocates for Life team in Albuquerque (ABQ) were hit hard with the news because they worked closely with Project Defending Life. They referred women from ABQ’s local abortion facilities to the center and stored their literature and material there, most of which was destroyed in the fire.

Why would anyone do such a hateful thing to a loving and peaceful ministry?
Because they are effective and winning the battle for life.
ABQ is the late-term abortion capital of the country, performing abortions through all nine months of pregnancy. The peaceful and loving Sidewalk Advocates have had great success in reaching out to abortion-bound women, partnering with Project Defending Life to get women the real help they need so they can make life-affirming choices for their families.
Some may think that all is lost in this case …but arson can’t stop love.
The pro-life community in ABQ — and all of us across the country — are coming together in prayer and support. PDL has resolved to continue assisting the fifteen clients currently in their care, as well as many more in need of their services. Recently, 100 people came out for a prayer rally to pray and show support for their ministry. Groups like Students for Life of America are helping find a mobile unit to station outside ABQ’s abortion facilities until the facility is restored. Our organization is standing in the wings, ready to replenish materials for our Sidewalk Advocates as needed.
We humbly ask that you pray for our Sidewalk Advocates, and all of the pro-life volunteers in ABQ, as they work to restore their facility and replace what is lost. They are working hard to get up and running again so they can continue helping women and families in need. It is wonderful to see how the community is coming together, but we know that prayer is greatly needed and appreciated as they rebuild!
Please keep all of our Sidewalk Advocates across the country and around the world in prayer as they face many challenges on a daily basis. While we know the reward is worth it — whether we see it this side of Heaven or not — we also know that it isn’t easy. We believe prayer changes things: Please help us to build a constant, unbroken chain of prayer in the battle for life!
While we may be in different geographical locations, we can all come together in unity through prayer to support one another, and to pray for an end to abortion.
