Dear Friend of Life:

Ever felt discouraged when it comes to the problem of abortion?

Wondering if a peaceful, prayerful outreach presence at your local abortion facility can really make a difference?

What if you have terrible access — due to the set up of the public right-of-way  to clients?  Can you still see miracles in that difficult situation?

The Sidewalk Advocates of Winter Haven, Florida, asked those very questions at one point, too.

When they first signed up for Sidewalk Advocates for Life, Amy and her team in Winter Haven were frustrated because the public right-of-way in front of their local abortion facility put them far away from the front door on a busy highway.  To top it off: the shopping center where the Planned Parenthood was located also had a movie theater, so it was incredibly hard to figure out who was going to the abortion facility and who wasn’t!

The good news is that they resigned not to give up and asked for help: A couple members of our national team went to Winter Haven and looked at their set-up and offered suggestions that helped change the game.

But you know what else changed the game?  Their perseverance in prayer and presence even when they weren’t seeing dramatic saves or other really evident victories.  They just kept believing that God was working through them and that He was working behind the scenes to eventually show them how their efforts would pay off.

Finally — after persevering for 18 months every week and offering everyone loving alternatives to abortion and Planned Parenthood — they watched their 22-23 year old abortion facility lose business and ultimately, CLOSE!

Here’s the VIDEO summary of their inspirational journey from frustration to victory:

Knowing how busy you are, we developed a simple, time-tested, research-proven sidewalk advocacy training program  along with ready-made tools and full-time support  so you can be successful in reaching out to abortion-minded women and men through God’s amazing grace!  (Yes, we were created for busy people who want to make a difference!)

All you do is fill out a 5-minute application (where you pledge to be peaceful, prayerful and law-abiding), agree to a short phone conversation so we can answer your questions, and we ship you everything you need to quickly build a team of peaceful sidewalk counselors.  Then, we walk with you, answering your questions as you build and grow.

Applications to bring Sidewalk Advocates for Life to your community this Fall are NOW OPEN August 1 – 31 at!

Still have questions?  No problem!

Our advice is to FIRST start with prayer: Am I called to bring peaceful sidewalk advocacy to our community?  Keep in mind: We have folks join us who have never been on the sidewalk all the way up to those who have been on the sidewalk for 30+ years!  (So many love the blessing of knowing that everything — the training, tools and support — is all ready when you are!)  Wherever you are in this journey, we’d love to be a blessing to you and your community!

SECOND, wherever you find yourself, we encourage you to gather more information.  Feel free to learn more at!  (And be sure to read our FAQs, too!)

“Behold, children are a gift of the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward.” — Psalm 127:3 (NASV)

Children are a gift from the Lord!  We know that as part of the pro-life community, but how do we show it?

It is easy to put on the pro-life hat and say that we are for ending abortion. We can — and should — be a witness for life in front of abortion facilities. But are we called to do more to affirm the truth that children are a blessing from the Lord?

We are pro-life not just when we go to the sidewalk, but also in how we live our daily lives. We have an opportunity to be a witness for life when we go to the grocery store, church, or make our daily commute. When we see a mother struggling with her children in the grocery store line, we can be a source of support when we step aside and let her check out first. When we go to church and the family is trying to hear God’s Word with a fussy baby, don’t encourage the family to leave — smile and affirm their valiant efforts.  If you take public transportation, offer the pregnant woman your seat.

When we show the world we care and support children and their parents in our day-to-day actions, we are showing the world what it truly means to be pro-life. And it may be those random acts of kindness that stick with someone when they encounter an unexpected pregnancy of their own.

Let Us Pray:

Lord, help us remember that children are a blessing every day throughout our day. Help us find ways to be kind and show love towards children and parents. Let our compassion and love for life spill over into everything that we do so that we may proclaim your truth with our actions and not just our words. Amen.
