A couple drove almost two hours to come to the abortion facility where our Sidewalk Advocates were praying. They did not know how far along in the pregnancy they were. Program Leader Cathy encouraged them to go to the pregnancy center for a free ultrasound, but the abortion-facility security guard came down and interrupted their discussion. And the mom decided to go on into the abortion facility.
After the dad walked his partner into the facility, he came back to talk to Cathy while he waited. She shared the support her team could provide the couple as well as stories about past families her team had helped so he could see their offer of help was the “real deal.”
All the while, the dad was texting the information Cathy was sharing to the mom inside, but he couldn’t convince her to leave the facility. Cathy kept encouraging him to be a hero and share his support for his partner and their baby. But once again, the security guard interrupted, and the dad decided to go sit in his car and wait.
The whole time Cathy was talking with dad, others on the sidewalk were covering this young family in prayer. Cathy rejoined her team and took to her knees in prayer for them.
The moment Cathy stood up from prayer, the dad texted her to say the baby has a heartbeat, mom is coming out, and they were keeping the baby!
When the mom came out, she was beaming. She said they were pressuring her abort inside the facility. But instead, she felt God was telling her to keep this baby.
Cathy and her team were thrilled and provided the couple immediate support for their beautiful family.
