Our Approach

Sidewalk Advocates for Life trains and equips local volunteers in sidewalk advocacy — that is crisis intervention for abortion-vulnerable women and men. Sidewalk advocacy is principally a peaceful, prayerful, law-abiding approach to pregnancy-help outreach outside abortion and abortion-referral facilities.  

Sidewalk Advocates encourage pregnant women to choose life and empower them to turn away from abortion with life-affirming resources. Our goal is to reach out in love to all present on the sidewalk to bring about a conversion of heart from a culture of death to a culture of life, thereby ending abortion.  More questions about sidewalk advocacy? Our Program

We offer a comprehensive training program — meaning, we discuss and demonstrate how to serve at the abortion or abortion referral facility in a multitude of scenarios, including real-life examples, experience-proven tips, and practical tools. In addition to training and tools to equip you on the sidewalk, we offer ongoing, full time, staff support so you can be as effective as possible.

Every gift made through April 30 will be DOUBLED during our Spring Matching Campaign thanks to a generous gorup of ministry partners.

Facilities closed: 

The permanent closure of an abortion or abortion-referral facility that had a Sidewalk Advocates for Life presence.

Workers who quit: 

An abortion worker who was influenced by prayer and sidewalk advocacy to leave the business. We refer all workers to And Then There Were None, a ministry that assists abortion workers in transitioning out of the industry.

 

Hopeful saves: 

A “hopeful save” is recorded when a pregnant woman leaves the abortion/abortion-referral facility still pregnant to “think about it,” armed with life-affirming literature and a referral to the local pregnancy resource center

 

Babies saved: 

A baby is recorded as a “save” when a pregnant woman accepts our offer of help at the local pregnancy resource center (PRC), verbally shares that she has chosen life, or gives us very clear signs that she has chosen life.
