Post-Roe America

Abortion in a Post-Roe America

Praise God, we are now a post-Roe America!

But even with Roe gone, that DOES NOT mean abortion is.

Now that the Supreme Court has overturned Roe v. Wade in the Dobbs decision, YOUR state law will govern abortion within your community. Below is a map that reflects the level of protection for preborn children now that Roe is overturned (as of 3-16-26).

In the wake of this historic decision, Sidewalk Advocates for Life continues to work with communities across the U.S. to help pregnant women and protect their children from abortion available locally or across state lines. In dark blue states (as designated on this map), Sidewalk Advocates will focus on abortion-referral facilities, working to connect with women before they go across state lines for an abortion. In all other states (yellow, green, light blue), where abortion is legal – in some cases up until birth – sidewalk advocacy will continue as usual.

Plan for a Post-Roe America

With the end of the 50-year tragedy that is Roe v. Wade, Sidewalk Advocates for Life  is committed to executing the following Post-Roe Plan:

Advise

Advise our local Program Leaders as to the changing abortion landscape nationwide and provide guidance specific to their state with the help of partnering legal organizations.

Prepare

Prepare Sidewalk Advocates for a possible temporary increase in hostility with a renewed commitment to safety and our Core Values of peaceful and law-abiding outreach.

Continuity

Ensure continuity of compassionate outreach to the abortion-vulnerable and those in need of quality, life-affirming health care.

Coverage

Continue working to cover, with peaceful outreach, all uncovered abortion facilities in the United States and beyond, followed by abortion-referral facilities.

Relationships

Foster and expand our relationships with partnering pregnancy-help organizations that provide quality care and resources to further build a life-saving network nationwide.

Prayer

Remain grounded in prayer and committed to being the hands & feet of Christ, offering help and hope to abortion-vulnerable women and men.

An abortion worker who was influenced by prayer and sidewalk advocacy to leave the business. We refer all workers to And Then There Were None, a ministry that assists abortion workers in transitioning out of the industry.

Hopeful saves:

A “hopeful save” is recorded when a pregnant woman leaves the abortion/abortion-referral facility still pregnant to “think about it,” armed with life-affirming literature and a referral to the local pregnancy resource center

Babies saved:

A baby is recorded as a “save” when a pregnant woman accepts our offer of help at the local pregnancy resource center (PRC), verbally shares that she has chosen life, or gives us very clear signs that she has chosen life.
