Carmen Bates provides administrative support to the Executive and Development Departments of the Sidewalk Advocates for Life.
Carmen is a graduate of Texas A&M University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in English — and where she first met Lauren Muzyka, who invited her to pray outside the local abortion facility. In addition to her experience as an executive assistant, Carmen has also worked as a graphic artist, magazine photographer and editor, and a customer service manager.
Carmen has long held a commitment to the sanctity of life, modeled early by her parents and siblings who welcomed a friend into their home who was facing an unexpected pregnancy. Since her youth, she has continued to respond to our Lord’s call to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.
Carmen is a devoted mother of two daughters she shares with her husband of 17 years, who recently went home to the Lord. She is grateful for every day the Lord brings with her family, and she enjoys serving at her church, staying healthy, trying new restaurants, spending time with friends and making new ones.
