PICTURE: Beautiful Baby Girl Saved from Abortion!

Dear Friend of Life:

Before we share some over-the-moon exciting news, I want to take a moment, simply, to say THANK YOU.

Words cannot express how truly grateful we are for each one of you who participate in this ministry — whether you are a financial supporter, prayer supporter, or you serve as a trained Sidewalk Advocate, lovingly reaching out to women-in-crisis in front of abortion facilities across the country.  Each of you sacrifice in a multitude of ways, helping us to stand in the gap for those who are broken and confused, giving their children a chance at life.

Truly, we see every day the fruit of your efforts!  Through Sidewalk Advocates peacefully reaching out to women in front of abortion facilities across the country and world, we have now witnessed well over 1,600 children (that we know of) spared from abortion …a mother and family saved from a lifetime of regret …little boys and little girls made in the image and likeness of God who almost became another statistic, but were saved because God worked throughsomeone who was there.

This time around, we’d love to introduce you to baby Riley, saved when God worked through Sidewalk Advocates in Michigan…

From our Sidewalk Advocate, Leandra, who helped Riley’s mom choose life…“…coming face to face with a beautiful baby girl whose life was almost snuffed out by abortion was in my top 5 miraculous things I’ve witnessed.

I can never put into words the feeling of holding this little one who almost wasn’t here. Looking into her beautiful big brown eyes, caressing her soft black hair, holding her perfectly formed tiny fingers. I had an unspoken bond with her. God knew I’d meet her one day, and I love her so much. The courage and strength of her mother, who gave her life even though it wasn’t ideal, but now beams with joy and love for her daughter.”

Thank you, Leandra!

We don’t always get to meet a child that was spared from abortion.  However, when we look upon the sweet face of Riley, created in the image and likeness of God Almighty, we know that He eventually shows us how our prayers and perseverance make a life-saving difference, even if the victory goes unseen at times.

Know that your prayers, financial support, and presence are making a profound difference!

Want to join us on the sidewalk?  Here are two great options…

1. Find a Sidewalk Advocates for Life location near you atsidewalkadvocates.org/locations.

2. Feel called to bring SAFL’s peaceful, prayerful sidewalk advocacy program to your local community this Spring?  Applications will open again in May, but you can submit your application early!

Every one of us has a role to play in ending abortion — whether we are a donor, trained Sidewalk Advocate (or peaceful sidewalk counselor), or prayer volunteer.  Thank you for saying “YES” to the call the Lord has placed on your heart, and for the role you play in saving precious children like sweet Riley!

DEVOTIONAL (March 1 – 21, 2017): “Free to Serve”

by Chantel Poisel, Communications Coordinator, Sidewalk Advocates for Life

Verses: “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” — Galatians 5:13-14

Reflection: Wow.  We are called to be free!  What a beautiful, and sobering thought that is.

The Lord has given us the free choice to decide what paths we will take, who we will serve, how we will spend our time, how we will spend our talents, and how we will spend our treasure.

In this passage, we are being encouraged to choose to use that freedom to serve one another in love — give others our time, be that shoulder to cry on, offer up our talents and our treasure to support our brothers and sisters in their time of need.  Love them as ourselves.

What better way to do that than by being or aiding the hands and feet of Christ in front of the darkest place where a child’s chance for free choice is being taken away?

Get trained as a Sidewalk Advocate and learn how to peacefully and lovingly reach out to women-in-crisis.

Become a prayer volunteer, standing on the sidewalk, praying for all who pass by, praying for all who enter those dark doors, and praying for those who are reaching out in love to those-in-crisis.

Join us in partnership as a donor, sacrificing everything from supplies for training events, literature to be handed out on the sidewalk, water for those volunteers donating their time, and your treasure to support all of these efforts to save every life possible by the grace of God!

Today, I challenge you to exercise your free choice and choose to serve one another in whatever capacity the Lord calls you to!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for the sacrifice you gave on the cross. We thank you for your grace and love that you continually pour out upon us. We thank you for the gifts you give us, including this gift of free choice. Help us to use the gifts you give us wisely. Help us to love our brothers and sisters as ourselves, and to freely give to others of our time, our talents, and our treasure. Help us to shine your light in the darkest of places, and to reach out in love with hope to those in crisis. Help us to better serve you by serving those we meet, and by showing your love to each and every one.

Lord, we give you praise and thanks for the blessings you have given each one of us, and the blessings you have revealed through this ministry. We thank you for the lives that have been saved, the women who have been helped, and for those who have been pointed toward you. Help us to continue being your hands and feet so that more may come to know you in a more personal way. Amen.
