“The best thing that has ever happened to me”

A 17-year-old girl, Alyssa, arrived at Planned Parenthood with her mom. When Alyssa approached the facility, she saw Linda, a Sidewalk Advocate, who gave her a pink bag with information, candy, and her phone number. Alyssa went inside the abortion facility and received an ultrasound. Afterward, she was unsure whether she wanted to go through with the abortion, so she decided to wait to make the next appointment. On the 2-hour drive home, Alyssa read over and over the information in the bag Linda had given her.

A month later, Alyssa chose life for her baby, and she texted Linda her heartfelt thanks for the gift that “changed my life.”

Overjoyed by this wonderful news, Linda asked the young mom if she needed any additional help. Alyssa shared that she was worried about finishing high school, receiving the medical help she needed, and all the financial challenges ahead. The next day, Linda connected with a network of pro-life partners in Alyssa’s hometown to brainstorm how they could best support this young mom’s courageous choice for life. Four days later, Alyssa had her first appointment at the local pregnancy resource center and a path forward toward the assistance she needed.

On Thanksgiving Day, Alyssa gave birth to a beautiful baby boy! After the holidays, she texted Linda again to share her gratitude:

The following November, Linda connected again with Alyssa, who shared that she and the baby’s father were celebrating their precious baby boy’s first birthday. To God be the glory!
