The Life-Saving Difference

When the Sidewalk Advocate approached the man in his car, she said, “Hello, sir. Do you know this is an abortion clinic?” He was flabbergasted. He had believed he was dropping off his girlfriend at a women’s health center; now he knew the truth.

“There’s a mobile unit across the street,” the Sidewalk Advocate said. “Go get her out, and we can give you all the help that you need.”

He went into the abortion facility and eventually came out with his girlfriend.  As they left the facility parking lot, the Sidewalk Advocate prayed that she would see their car pulling over to the mobile clinic. The longer they were away, the harder she prayed. And at last, her prayer was answered!

The car pulled up, and the young woman went into the mobile clinic. When she emerged, the Sidewalk Advocate could see that the outcome looked hopeful.

Without that Sidewalk Advocate’s peaceful, loving presence, that man would not have realized where his girlfriend was, and he would not have made the effort to extricate her. They would have driven past the mobile pregnancy clinic without realizing the real help available to them.

Without the mobile unit, the Sidewalk Advocate would have faced the challenge of referring the couple to a facility some distance away, and would not have had the opportunity to see that they took advantage of the assistance offered – or been able to offer them additional resources.

This is the life-saving difference our committed Sidewalk Advocates make each and every day!

Story submitted by Sidewalk Advocates for Life – Spring, TX

Facilities closed:

The permanent closure of an abortion or abortion-referral facility that had a Sidewalk Advocates for Life presence.

Workers who quit:

An abortion worker who was influenced by prayer and sidewalk advocacy to leave the business. We refer all workers to And Then There Were None, a ministry that assists abortion workers in transitioning out of the industry.

Hopeful saves:

A “hopeful save” is recorded when a pregnant woman leaves the abortion/abortion-referral facility still pregnant to “think about it,” armed with life-affirming literature and a referral to the local pregnancy resource center

Babies saved:

A baby is recorded as a “save” when a pregnant woman accepts our offer of help at the local pregnancy resource center (PRC), verbally shares that she has chosen life, or gives us very clear signs that she has chosen life.
