435 BABIES SAVED …and counting!

Dear Friend of Life,

Once in awhile, you have to stop and just give God praise for what has taken place in your midst!

It’s with great JOY that I share with you that we’ve now witnessed to 435 babies saved at abortion facilities all across our globe!  That also does not include 165 hopefuls — those who left the facility to “think about it,” armed with life-saving literature and a referral to the local pregnancy center.  In reality, the number of children spared could be much closer to 600!

Then, there’s abortion workers — we have helped 10 workers leave the business, working in tandem with Abby Johnson’s abortion worker ministry, And Then There Were None.  There are many more considering leaving right now; please be sure to keep them in your prayers!

And then, there are victories that we can’t even begin to quantify: we’ve pulled thousands of dollars of business away from abortion and abortion-referral facilities by supplying a client with a more life-affirming community alternative; we’re witnessing facilities cut their hours of business in a big way; and at this moment, there are a few facilities teetering on the edge of closing!

Know that we share all this not to “play the numbers game,” but as amazing evidence that our prayers, indeed, are being heard and answered!

Right now, we have 55 life-saving locations and the promise of more to come!  We cannot wait to see what God will do as we mark our 1-year anniversary on April 1 and move ahead into year #2!

Thank you for joining us today in a prayer of thanksgiving as we — with God’s grace — seek to save lives and transform hearts at abortion centers all across our country and beyond!

Our Program Coordinator, Julia Pritchett, recently gave an in-person training to our new crew in New York City — Manhattan!

One of the new Sidewalk Advocates said after the training, “You were great! I learned more than expected!” Others proclaimed, “I learned so much! Julia was wonderful!”

The NYC – Manhattan location is covering one of the oldest abortion facilities in New York City. It does 11,000 abortions each year — which Julia shared: it means they have 11,000 women to love! Because of the set-up of the facility, they have excellent access right up to the door of the center, so they have an opportunity to make a huge impact. Some advocates came from as far away as Long Island, which means over an hour commute each way.

We humbly ask you to keep Joe and his new team of Sidewalk Advocates in your prayers, as New York City is the abortion capital of the country (and one of the busiest in the world) — about 44% of all New York City pregnancies end in abortion. Still, God is moving in a big way — the group just recently gave God praise for two precious babies saved in one day! Let’s continue to pray and believe for more miracles!

WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL (MARCH 15 – 21, 2015): “A TIME TO PAUSE”

by Lauren Muzyka, Executive Director, Sidewalk Advocates for Life

Verse(s): “A clean heart create for me, O God; give me back the joy of your salvation.” — Isaiah 55:12

Reflection: Many Christians — in the 40 days leading up to Easter — celebrate a season called Lent. During Lent, believers pause to take a little spiritual inventory and see where they are in their walk with Christ: is there anything I need to ask forgiveness for? What earthly attachments do I have that prevent me from living a more full, abundant life in Christ? Do I treat my neighbor — even difficult friends or family — with love and respect? Am I living in such a way that attracts others to Christ?

A pause like this is likened to “spring cleaning” — we take a serious look at ourselves so that we can “get more out of the way,” so Christ can shine even more brightly through us. It reminds me of the verse, “He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30).

If we don’t get out of the way for God, how can he work miracles through us on the sidewalk — and every area of our lives?

Call to Action: Lent is not over! Consider making a small sacrifice, remembering the sacrifice that He made for you on the Cross! From now until Easter, you can give up a food item, TV, a vice, etc. …and use that time, instead, to pray at your local abortion facility or pray at home for an end to abortion!

Facilities closed:

The permanent closure of an abortion or abortion-referral facility that had a Sidewalk Advocates for Life presence.

Workers who quit:

An abortion worker who was influenced by prayer and sidewalk advocacy to leave the business. We refer all workers to And Then There Were None, a ministry that assists abortion workers in transitioning out of the industry.

Hopeful saves:

A “hopeful save” is recorded when a pregnant woman leaves the abortion/abortion-referral facility still pregnant to “think about it,” armed with life-affirming literature and a referral to the local pregnancy resource center

Babies saved:

A baby is recorded as a “save” when a pregnant woman accepts our offer of help at the local pregnancy resource center (PRC), verbally shares that she has chosen life, or gives us very clear signs that she has chosen life.
