Celebrating Our One-Year Anniversary! A LIMITED TIME OFFER…

Dear Friend of Life:

Yesterday was a very special day — a day that those of us in Sidewalk Advocates for Life will celebrate for a long time to come by God’s grace!  Yesterday was our one-year anniversary on the sidewalk!

On April 1, 2014, our first wave of locations — 22, to be exact — hit the sidewalk in front of their local abortion or abortion-referral facility, offering loving alternatives to abortion-minded women and men.  As the days passed, I remember thinking how wonderful it would be if we hit “this milestone” or “that milestone” in a certain amount of time.  In short, the Lord blew away our preconceived notions of victory …and blessed us with so much more!

It’s so exciting to now tell you that — in one-year’s time — we are celebrating…

  • 55 locations — 52 in the United States, 1 in Canada, 1 in Australia and 1 in Romania …and growing!
  • 469 babies saved — including several sets of twins!  On average, we see 1-2 precious children saved each and every day!
  • 170 hopefuls — those who left “to think about it,” armed with life-saving literature and a referral to the local pregnancy center; we continue to pray that they choose life!  (We have confirmed that some of these “hopefuls” have, indeed, become saves!)
  • 11 abortion workers who have left due to the witness of the Sidewalk Advocates with a referral to And Then There Were None abortion worker ministry
  • Thousands of dollars pulled from the abortion and abortion-referral industry — as ourSidewalk Advocates have supplied a more pro-life healthcare alternative
  • Reports of long-time abortion facilities cutting their hours or teetering on the edge of closure!

What God has done in the past year is nothing short of amazing!

In honor of our first year anniversary, one of our Program Advisors, Former Planned Parenthood Manager Ramona Treviño, is offering a FREE, SIGNED copy of her BRAND NEW book, Redeemed by Grace, for a $25 or more one-time donation to Sidewalk Advocates for Life!  This LIMITED TIME OFFERwill only be available during the month of April!  Click HERE to make your donation …and your FREE gift will be promptly shipped to you!

Many times I stop and wonder: what will year #2 and beyond look like?  And what comes to me is this…But as it is written, ‘No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined the things that God has prepared for those who love him’ (1 Cor 2:9).

We know that if we continue to pray, show up, serve and support this life-saving ministry that He will bless it, simply because we serve a powerful God who is love and loves life!

So, today, I hope you’ll pause with me, say a prayer and thank God for the abundant blessings in year #1 — it’s so exciting to think that, last April, we had no idea how He would bless our efforts, and yet, here we are celebrating so much more than we ever imagined!  Let us pray that we would show up in year #2, asking — once again — to be His hands and feet, in an effort to end abortion through the power of prayer and love!

Keep up the great work — and let us press forward in this wonderful work to transform hearts and save lives through God’s amazing grace!

WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL (MARCH 22 – APRIL 4, 2015): “PROTECTING HIS CHILDREN”

Verse(s): “Then His disciples began arguing about which of them was the greatest. But Jesus knew their thoughts, so he brought a little child to His side. Then He said to them, ‘Anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf welcomes Me, and anyone who welcomes Me also welcomes my Father who sent Me. Whoever is the least among you is the greatest.'” — Luke 9:46-48

Reflection: Jesus tells us something profound in this reading today. When you consider that He says that anyone who welcomes a little child welcomes Him, He is telling us that when we defend the lives of little children, we are defending His life. What we do to the least of our little brothers, we do to Him. Whether we are protecting little children from being abused, finding orphans homes, or protecting the lives of the unborn, we are fighting for those who are least among us, for those who cannot speak for themselves. And Jesus says that when we do that, we are fighting for God Himself.

Faith Challenge: Let’s ask God how we can do a better job of fighting for the lives of the least among us, and we can be sure that He will tell us. Let’s also pray for courage to do what He asks!

Facilities closed:

The permanent closure of an abortion or abortion-referral facility that had a Sidewalk Advocates for Life presence.

Workers who quit:

An abortion worker who was influenced by prayer and sidewalk advocacy to leave the business. We refer all workers to And Then There Were None, a ministry that assists abortion workers in transitioning out of the industry.

Hopeful saves:

A “hopeful save” is recorded when a pregnant woman leaves the abortion/abortion-referral facility still pregnant to “think about it,” armed with life-affirming literature and a referral to the local pregnancy resource center

Babies saved:

A baby is recorded as a “save” when a pregnant woman accepts our offer of help at the local pregnancy resource center (PRC), verbally shares that she has chosen life, or gives us very clear signs that she has chosen life.
