A Mom Alone Finds a Family of Support

It was another busy day at a California Planned Parenthood. Sidewalk Advocate Angela caught the eye of a woman exiting her car and waved to her. The woman pointed at herself as if to ask, “Who, me?” and approached.

After praying for the right words, Angela asked her: “Do you know a little bit about Planned Parenthood? I think you deserve to know what you’re walking into ….” The mom, Serah, was interested, so Angela explained about Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger and the eugenic roots of the organization. Serah was frozen in place, listening.

Kristina, a fellow Sidewalk Advocate, joined the conversation, empathizing with Serah: “I know you are probably scared.” She then asked her, “Do your parents know?” Kristina could see a tear when she mentioned her parents.

Sereh said her appointment was right now. Before she walked away, Kristina asked, “Do you want to get a bite to eat or coffee?” Serah accepted, and they left the abortion facility. At the coffee shop, Kristina connected her to resources through a local helpline. She also encouraged Serah to tell her mom about the pregnancy.

The next day, Serah texted Kristina, “The talk went well with my mom. She’s doing everything to help me out. Thank you for everything.” With support from her own family, as well as Kristina’s church family, Serah found the courage to CHOOSE LIFE! She welcomed the birth of her beautiful baby girl – Genesis – a blessing to her entire family.

This miracle and thousands more like it would not be possible without your support!
