Where God Is, There Is Always Light

It’s a sad story of an abortionist and his daughter — both from Texas — who refused to leave the abortion industry despite the fall of Roe and the abortion ban in their home state. “I don’t think I ever really thought about quitting,” said the abortionist, who made national headlines when he defied Texas law by performing an abortion on a client who was past six weeks pregnant. Since then he and his daughter announced they were moving their business to two of the busiest abortion destinations in the country — New Mexico and Illinois:

But where God is, there is always light. In both New Mexico and Illinois, Sidewalk Advocates are on the ground, serving as the hands, feet, and heart of Christ, offering alternatives to abortion-vulnerable women. Bud — one of our most committed volunteer Advocates — recently reported from Albuquerque how our sidewalk presence is not only helping pregnant women find better options, it is also giving workers a path out of this horrific business:

Howdy, I am standing outside of Alamo in Albuquerque for the week. Today was interesting. A lady was there for a job interview at Alamo, but didn’t really want to go. I told her I could help her find another job. … She said she would still go in, but ten minutes later, she walked out and said, “I can’t do that, can you help me?” I said, “YES!” I gave her the number to the local (pregnancy resource centers), and told her they would help her. (I called to let them know while she was inside.)

(Later, a) couple was dropped off; they flew in from Texas, and the man brushed me off when I offered a bag and information. … They walked in, and then, he walked out to go down the street for food. Ten minutes later, she walked out … and left. … She wasn’t in the office long enough to get the abortion pill. Fifteen minutes after she left, her man walked back up! He went inside and stormed out a few seconds later, looked around and went back inside. He came out a few minutes later, he looked around again, looked at me, and I just shrugged my shoulders. …. I don’t know what was going on, but she left him!!

Please carry this mom and worker in your prayers, along with all our Sidewalk Advocates who are facing increased traffic and hostilities in abortion destinations like Alamo. God will prevail!

A “hopeful save” is recorded when a pregnant woman leaves the abortion/abortion-referral facility still pregnant to “think about it,” armed with life-affirming literature and a referral to the local pregnancy resource center

Babies saved:

A baby is recorded as a “save” when a pregnant woman accepts our offer of help at the local pregnancy resource center (PRC), verbally shares that she has chosen life, or gives us very clear signs that she has chosen life.
