A Confession from Our Founder

Dear Friends,

I had to share this profound moment with you.

I was at our national conference in Dallas a few weeks ago, and one of our longtime friends and supporters in the movement, Jacob, came up to me, looked me straight in the eye, and said this:

Lauren, do you ever just stop and take a moment to give thanks for what God has built through you all? This conference … your number of sidewalk outreach locations … the 21,000 babies saved in the ministry! Wow. I mean …wow. Do you ever just pause in disbelief?

Jacob’s words pulled me away from my to-do list in that moment and caused me to really pause to give thanks.

I knew instantly he was right: Through our collective YES, God has literally worked miracles in our midst. And while I found my heart overflowing with gratitude in that moment – thankful that Jacob had slowed me down to give God praise – I confessed:

Jacob, you’re right. It is amazing. What God has done is nothing short of miraculous! But I guess what’s weighing on me is this: we cover 267 abortion and abortion-referral facilities in America … but there’s 777. It’s incredible to think that we now cover 35% of all U.S. facilities … but what keeps me awake at night is that there are still 500 facilities with no one there to offer these moms help and hope.

Jacob received my words, graciously reiterated all the miracles that had taken place, and encouraged me to keep going, knowing Sidewalk Advocates for Life has been uniquely positioned “for such a time as this” (Es 4:14).

Lying in bed that evening, a simple, but profound question hit me:

If it’s true that lives and souls are on the line every day – and many of these women would choose life and choose Christ if a Sidewalk Advocate was there for them – what’s stopping us from raising all the support needed as soon as possible to cover all uncovered abortion and abortion-referral facilities in America?

It may seem daunting, but we’re now poised to scale in a massive way: Sidewalk Advocates for Life CAN achieve nationwide coverage of all U.S. abortion-related facilities through direct hires of “Metro Coordinators” in the top 19 major metropolitan areas for abortion – cities that boast 50% of the U.S. abortion rate – all while cultivating volunteers in smaller cities. Each Metro Coordinator will train and build a regular, full-time presence of Sidewalk Advocates at all facilities in the area. Additional funding will provide all sidewalk materials, and sustain those locations, spiritually and strategically, through quality support from our National Programs Team.

To achieve this incredible goal, a group of Ministry Partners has come together to offer up a $437,500 matching challenge* through December 13th – the largest in our ministry’s history! Please help us see victory in the battle for life by partnering with us through your most generous financial gift to reach every sidewalk and every soul considering abortion.

You can make a generous, year-end gift – and not only see your impact instantly doubled, but change the course of generations – at sidewalkadvocates.org/donate.

THANK YOU for joining us in this incredible mission to reach every mom in need as soon as possible!

In Christ, For Life,

Lauren Muzyka, Esq.

Facilities closed:

The permanent closure of an abortion or abortion-referral facility that had a Sidewalk Advocates for Life presence.

Workers who quit:

An abortion worker who was influenced by prayer and sidewalk advocacy to leave the business. We refer all workers to And Then There Were None, a ministry that assists abortion workers in transitioning out of the industry.

Hopeful saves:

A “hopeful save” is recorded when a pregnant woman leaves the abortion/abortion-referral facility still pregnant to “think about it,” armed with life-affirming literature and a referral to the local pregnancy resource center

Babies saved:

A baby is recorded as a “save” when a pregnant woman accepts our offer of help at the local pregnancy resource center (PRC), verbally shares that she has chosen life, or gives us very clear signs that she has chosen life.
