The Twins You Helped Save

Two babies’ lives were hanging in the balance. Their mother was 22 weeks along with two heartbeats, two little lives kicking and squirming, and little ears that could hear her voice. But she was already caring for five other children with no financial security to parent more. Unable to see a way forward, she was headed to the abortion facility.

But before entering, she was met with love. With grace. With Christ’s compassion … in the form of Sidewalk Advocate, Cathy, offering her hope and real help.

Thanks to that encounter and the support that followed, that mom became a hero — not only bravely choosing life but also creating an adoption plan for her two children.

Today, “J” and “Z” are thriving, surrounded by the love of their adoptive family and enjoying a beautiful relationship with their birth mother. And just last week, Cathy was there to celebrate the their fourth birthday!

If Cathy hadn’t been there, standing in the gap at that critical moment, the terrible truth is that the twins likely would not be here today. Their amazing story is just one glimpse into what God can do when the community steps into the gap to help the most vulnerable among us.
