Special Message from Our President & CEO:
Shortly before ringing in the new year, I was struck by a question that I recently shared on my podcast …
Who is God inviting us to become in this next season? What kind of disciple… what kind of advocate… what kind of servant?
Whether you’re part of Sidewalk Advocates for Life or simply someone striving to live out your faith and conscience in everyday encounters, this is a beautiful time to look inward and ask:
God, how can I become the best version of myself in 2026?
And what is something you want me to do this year?
And then ask yourself what virtues will help you achieve those goals in the days, weeks, and months ahead. Is it more patience? Is it speaking with greater gentleness? Is it finding the courage to step out in faith, even if you feel unprepared? Maybe it’s finding more joy in service, more compassion for others, more trust in the Lord.
The good news is this: we don’t walk into the new year alone. Scripture reminds us—echoed in that beloved hymn—“Eye has not seen, ear has not heard what God has ready for those who love Him.” That means God is already in our tomorrow. He is already preparing the conversations, the divine appointments, the moments of grace. He is already shaping each of us into the persons we are longing to become.
I think 2026 is going to be a game-changing year for us all … and it’s in part because we’re praying, and we’re choosing every day to fight the good fight and meanwhile, aim to be the best versions of ourselves; indeed, salt and light to a world in need. But thankfully, it is not up to us to figure everything out and make it all happen. As the saying goes: “Let go and Let God.” Let Him light our path, one step at a time. And let us offer Him our desires to love more deeply, to serve more faithfully, and to defend life with renewed courage.
We don’t have to know every detail of the road ahead. We just have to keep doing the next right thing and trust the One who walks with each of us. God already sees the beautiful things (and the challenging ones) ahead. Our role is simply to say “yes” to the gift of His grace and the wisdom of His will. May that “yes” carry you into a year of purpose, peace, and powerful love. And know I’m cheering you on!
