What Americans Really Think About Abortion

Message from our President & CEO:

Dear Friends,

A brand-new poll — the Marist Poll — just came out with some heartening news. This poll, commissioned by the Knights of Columbus and performed by a trusted source for national surveys,* reported:

  • 64% of Americans support placing legal limits on abortion;
  • 84% support pregnancy resource centers, these centers that outnumber abortion facilities more than four to one and provide women life-affirming alternatives to abortion;
  • 63% of Americans believe healthcare professionals should not be forced to commit abortions against their religiously held beliefs; and
  • 88% of Americans believe that laws can protect both mother and child.

Based on this data, we can confidently say that when the other side claims Americans want abortion on demand through all nine months of pregnancy for any reason, that’s absurd. Most Americans want significant restrictions on abortion.

But for those of us who want abortion completely abolished, this poll also shows that we have work to do, right? We must keep taking our case to the American people that abortion is the egregious killing of innocent human life, and that mothers and children in any situation deserve better than the violence of abortion. We are all called to be ambassadors for life within our sphere of influence — whether that’s among our friends and family, at our church, on campus, or online.

I humbly ask you to challenge yourself in a new way as a disciple for the Gospel of Life. Whether it’s giving your time, your treasure or your talent, there is something for everyone to contribute to this most critical mission to protect the most vulnerable among us.

Not sure where to start? We’d love to help you.

I pray you all experience a fulfilling season of reconciliation and renewal as we journey towards Calvary these 40 days in hopeful preparation for the glory of Resurrection Sunday!

In Christ, for Life,

Lauren Muzyka, Esq.
