Dear Friend of Life:
Taking time to stand, pray, and reach out on the sidewalk in front of an abortion facility can sometimes be a major sacrifice of time, especially for our Sidewalk Advocates who regularly go to their local abortion facility and reach out in love to abortion-minded women and men.
Many of us never see the daily impact our presence and our prayers have made …then, one day, God shows us!
Have you ever prayed that one child and one woman would be spared from the pain of abortion?
Today, I want to give you THREE examples your sacrifice and prayers make a huge, life-saving difference!
First, meet baby Yesli…

From our Program Director, Mark, in Columbia, SC…
Baby Yesli was saved from abortion when trained Sidewalk Advocates were present at the abortion facility and reached out in love with hope and help for her mother!
This next picture of baby Benjamin was sent to us by Cheri, our Program Director in Virginia Beach and Norfolk, VA…

Baby Benjamin is alive and well because peaceful, prayerful Sidewalk Advocates were present at the abortion facility praying, reaching out to his mom as she went to the abortion facility planning to end this little boy’s life. She has been spared from a lifetime of regret and now, has this beautiful blessing in her arms!
Here we have baby Amiah, sent from our Program Director, Laura, in Louisville, KY…

Here’s something to think about: These are just three of the 1,400 precious, beautiful children saved in just over two years — children who almost became statistics and had their lives ended before they left the safety of their mothers’ wombs. They also represent three mothers who were spared from a lifetime of regret …three families who will be forever changed because of these blessings in their lives! This is why we do what we do! To God be the Glory — great things He is doing through your prayers, efforts and support!
I want to encourage you: even if you aren’t seeing these results personally in your own ministry right now, know that the Lord is faithful. He is blessing your efforts — and one day, you will reap the harvest!
Many times, our Sidewalk Advocates have no idea what impact they had that day on the sidewalk. However, when we look upon the sweet faces of these children, created in the image and likeness of God Almighty, we know that He eventually shows us how our prayers and perseverance make a life-saving difference, even if the victory goes unseen at times.

Every single person has a role to play in ending abortion — whether you are a trained Sidewalk Advocate (or peaceful sidewalk counselor), prayer volunteer, or financial supporter — and your action makes a difference in the lives of children like these, changing a family tree and the world forever. Thank you for your “YES” to whatever the Lord has called you to do!

BI-WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL (October 1 – 15, 2016): “He Provides for His Children”
by Jenna Scott, Program Administrator, Sidewalk Advocates for LifeVerses: “Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” — Matthew 6:26 (NIV)
Reflection: The Lord provides for us in all of our needs. This has been promised to us many times over, throughout His Word. Our needs are taken care of by our Father because of our immense worth as His children, like any good father would do.
However, there are many that we minister to who do not see that they can and will be taken care of, which is why they see the blessing of a child as a financial (or other type) of hurdle that they cannot overcome. We know of God’s promises to us, but they may not. We can shout this from the rooftops to everyone and sadly, there will be those who won’t hear or acknowledge that promise.
What people do see and what people do hear are actions. So when we step forward to say “yes” to God to be His hands and feet to help someone else with their needs, then we live and pass on the Gospel by allowing God to work through us to take care of His children. Everyone we meet will have different needs, but what is important is that we really listen and acknowledge those needs so we can truly fill them and provide real, ongoing help.
Letting God work through us sometimes requires a lot of listening skills as others convey their needs …but we also need to be challenged to quiet our mind so that we may hear God’s answer in how to best take care of His children.
Let us pray: Dear Lord, help us be better listeners in our lives so that we may really hear others’ needs and listen to you for how best to help. Let us think less of our own experiences and ourselves and instead, focus on who we are helping and your path for them. Help us spread your Gospel by being your hands and feet in this world so that we may show the world your love and desire to take care of all your children.
