Dear Friend of Life:
A big question: How does the election — knowing that we’ll no longer have a pro-life administration or pro-life majority in the House and Senate — and recent events in our country affect us …and where is Sidewalk Advocates for Life going from here?
More about that in just a moment. First, I want to share some exciting news at the top of 2021…
By the grace of God and with your generosity and sacrifice, we made goal and secured the all-or-nothing “bonus fund” from our ministry partners! This means we can grow beyond our 202 locations and help even more mothers in crisis choose life for their preborn children.
From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!!
As we move forward, people can’t help but ask: Where do we go from here as the most radical, pro-abortion government prepares to take over?
Let me share why I have abundant HOPE…
We are fighters, and I think this movement does some of its best work when we’re fighting upstream.
Remember this: Record numbers of abortion facilities shut down during the Obama Administration, the most pro-abortion government in history.
WHY?
Because YOU showed up.
You went to where abortions actually take place and you prayed and offered help to mothers in crisis, saving thousands of preborn children and devastating many abortion centers.
You educated your neighbor on what abortion was and what it did to mother and child.
You got involved in local elections and taught your community the importance of voting pro-life first.
I could go on …but it’s clear grassroots efforts devastated the pro-abortion side and led to more people voting pro-life FIRST than ever before, leading to the election of the most pro-life administration we’ve ever seen.
In hindsight, I am absolutely convinced that this wasn’t at all a referendum on the pro-life (or conservative) movement — it was because people are hurting, and they didn’t vote our most cherished, foundational values: life, family, and religious liberty.
Otherwise, it would’ve been a landslide.
This lets me know that we still have work to do. We must figure out WHY some aren’t voting pro-life first and what motivated them this election.
Then, we have to LISTEN, learn from those insights, and work to better make our case.
As we move forward, remember that law tends to follow culture (the hearts of the people). As we reach hearts and minds, it will have a ripple effect into government.
Since Roe v. Wade was handed down in 1973, the pro-life movement has worked to reverse that fatal decision, and simultaneously, show abortion-bound women the life-affirming options that will bring joy to their lives, sparing them and their preborn babies from the pain of abortion.
In short, our work is timeless! Though we look to the day that sidewalk advocacy is unnecessary, for now, we’re holding fast to our mission of speaking love into the life of every person we meet outside an abortion center, redirecting all to life-affirming options. With each mother we serve, Roe v. Wade is overturned for her and her child right in that moment and the abortion facility is slowly drained of business, thereby ending abortion community by community.
Rest assured, we’re already employing a proven, winning model to end abortion on the community level. Yes, what happens in our governmental leadership has an impact, but the most significant changes are made when we share the love and mercy of Jesus with people in desperate need of hope.
With that, please be encouraged, and join me in “keeping on” this year. Together, we will continue to reach abortion-minded women, men, and workers; and we know our prayers, meanwhile, are heard by our great God who desires the best for each and every soul who crosses our path.
Thank you again for your partnership with us as we continue our mission to save lives and end abortion through the power of His love!
Blessings in Christ,
Lauren Muzyka
