Reflection by Embrace Grace and SAFL Program Leader:
I have been leading my local Embrace Grace ministry for single moms, along with a team of women God brought in to co-lead with me, for four years now! I absolutely love being involved in this ministry. Single moms get to experience loving community and the beauty of motherhood, all with the love, joy, and peace of Christ. They and their children are invited into our welcoming church, experience community, friendship, biblical teaching, and can feel like they belong and are seen. Single motherhood is hard, but through Embrace Grace, moms discover that through a personal relationship with Jesus, they are never alone!
In 2023, I found out about Sidewalk Advocates and felt led to join my local team here in Grand Rapids. With SAFL, we provide hope and resources for moms on the sidewalk outside abortion facilities. It has been such a joy doing both this ministry and Embrace Grace, as both ministries align with loving moms, pointing them to Jesus, and caring for them from the moment they discover they’re pregnant to years beyond!
I love having a front-row seat to God’s miracles being involved in these ministries! It’s amazing where saying “yes” to God and putting my faith into action has taken me, and the lives I’ve been able to see transformed … throughout these years. We are here on this earth for a short time, and our purpose is to love God and to be the hands and feet of Christ. There is no greater joy or blessing than to shine His light in these tangible ways helping others!
My advice is this: say “yes” to God! Do it scared and experience His mighty power in and through you as you learn to trust in Him. He will do miracles in your life and in the lives of others through your obedience!
