A Heartbreaking Question

The abortion escorts outside Planned Parenthood were particularly aggressive that day – not letting us talk to the women entering. Despite this, my daughter and I spotted a woman headed into the facility, and miraculously, the escorts were not blocking our approach. The woman, however, did not speak fluent English, so language was a bit of a barrier. We were able to offer her a gift bag and tried to explain that there was help available at the pregnancy resource center next door.

The woman responded,

“I don’t have to have an abortion?”

She repeated this heartbreaking question, as if the option of keeping her child was beyond her understanding. My daughter explained that “no, no, you don’t have to,” and reiterated that help was available nearby. The woman agreed to go to the pregnancy resource center, where she explained that a doctor had told her she needed to have an abortion. The center connected her with a pro-life doctor who provided this mom the real help she needed and assured her an abortion was not necessary. Several months later, she returned to the Planned Parenthood to introduce us to her baby girl, Grace! Praise be to God!!
