Program Leaders Wayne and Felisha understand how important it is to offer support and resources to abortion workers as well as to abortion-minded women and men. For this reason, they were thrilled when one of their team members felt called to make a special outreach to the workers at the facility.
Over time, the Sidewalk Advocate forged a friendly relationship with a particular worker. Sometimes, when the worker’s husband dropped her off for her shift, she mentioned to the Sidewalk Advocate that she didn’t like working at the facility. One day, he gave her a gift bag that included information about And Then There Were None, which helps abortion workers exit the industry — and he continued to pray for her conversion of heart.
Then, something special happened.
One morning, the woman’s husband dropped her off at work, as usual – but in her hands she held only her name badge and a letter.
“I’m supposed to be working today, but I’m not,” she said. “I’m submitting my resignation letter.”
The entire Fayetteville team celebrates this miracle – and we join in that celebration. We give thanks that this worker found the courage to leave the abortion industry … and we give thanks for the Sidewalk Advocate who made it his mission to reach out to her and her coworkers.
For him, this worker’s resignation “was validation that he was doing the right thing,” Felisha says. “He truly did have that urging from the Lord to be specific and intentional about the workers out there.”
