Sidewalk Advocate Thomas had been chatting with the abortion worker for about a year, as he served on the sidewalk. Slowly, their interaction evolved into a trusted relationship.
Early on, when Thomas greeted her with a “Hello” or “Good Morning,” she was quite reserved.
As the months went by, she opened up a little. He often asked if there was anything he could pray for on her behalf, and she shared her prayer intentions with him. Thomas also regularly offered her a card from And Then There Were None, our partner ministry that helps abortion workers who have left the industry. One day, she finally took the card.

Still, it was a shock when the worker told Thomas:
“Today’s my last day.”
“Are you leaving the abortion industry?” he asked. “Yes,” she replied.
After receiving this wonderful news, Thomas reflected, “I was really happy to hear it. I was praying for it, for her specifically as well. I’ll be happy never to see her again!”
