Dear Friend of Life,
There’s no doubt that the enemy has tried to use 2020 to discourage and defeat us …but God has taken those same circumstances to bless and increase us!
Taking a good look at the year thus far, we can’t help but see blessings in the midst of the challenges, thanks to your many prayers and sacrificial support. In short, we’re over here celebrating what He has done through YOU.
We’re thrilled about now witnessing over 10,000 mothers served and babies saved, 70 abortion workers who have left the industry with the help of a Sidewalk Advocate, over 20 facility closures …and we’re currently accepting applications to grow our current 200 life-saving locations! We’re also excitedly looking ahead to the Third Annual Save Lives on the Sidewalk National Pro-Life Conference — completely virtual this year, enabling us to reach more all over the world. (NOTE: We encourage you to grab your ticket soon: We’re already 1/3rd full!)
This is all GOOD NEWS, and there’s more.
Because our work the last six years has grown exponentially with every location that’s been added and novel issues continue to arise on the sidewalk — for example, we had to issue emergency safety guidelines earlier this year regarding abortion outreach in a pandemic and reconstruct our training system to include a virtual training option — we’re delighted to report that our National Team has grown in 2020!
This fresh crew keeps things moving at SAFL, and we’re grateful to have their gifts and passion behind our mission. They even reflect our cross-denominational identity, coming from different church backgrounds! Allow me to introduce you…

Jamie Lynn Black, Director of Communications: Jamie Lynn oversees strategic communications, media relations, and content development. Before signing on with us, Jamie Lynn coordinated international media relations for several papal events and her journalistic background includes work on EWTN News Nightly. While her work has moved her across eight cities in four countries over the past few years, she calls the Jersey Shore home.
Katie Sciba, Communications Assistant: Katie supports the department, part-time, in special projects, content management, and internal communications. Katie is a public speaker and seven-time Catholic Press Award winning columnist. She’s an avid minimalist and delights in travel and local coffee. At home, she plays an active part in her husband’s business and homeschools their five children.
Jon-Mark Williams, Social Media Coordinator: Jon-Mark joined us, part-time, to aid strategy and planning on our social media channels. He began working in ministry in his early 20s and has been actively involved at his non-denominational church as well as Brother Bill’s Helping Hand, taking meals to those in need. Jon-Mark is a single parent and enjoys traveling, serving, and finding joy in anything.
Sarah Judson, Development Assistant: Sarah recently joined us, part-time, to bless correspondence with our ministry partners and maintain our support database. She has served as Center Director in Heartbeat International and CareNet Pregnancy Resource Centers, a SAFL Local Co-Leader, and a 40 Days for Life Campaign Leader. Sarah enjoys the great outdoors with her husband and their five children.
Again, we’re so excited to have these new faces on board. To get to know the rest of the SAFL National Team, head over to our website to read their biographies.
We’d love it if you joined us, too! This month, applications to bring Sidewalk Advocates for Life to YOUR community this Fall are OPEN! With ample training, tools, and support, you’ll more confidently reach out to those entering abortion facilities to point them to life-affirming alternatives, right where they are, forever changing a family tree.
DON’T FORGET: Our application period is open through August 31st! Again, we’d be honored to have you join us in saving lives and ending abortion.
Thank you, friend, for being such an important part of the blessings we’ve experienced thus far in 2020! And stay tuned in the coming weeks for some huge announcements about Sidewalk Advocates for Life’s new logo and look — which better expresses our mission to be the hands and feet of Jesus at the darkest places in our communities — as well as our year-end goals to help save more lives and impact more eternal souls!
Please join me in praying for Sidewalk Advocates everywhere, that by His grace, we will keep bringing the love, hope, and mercy of Christ to those we meet on the sidewalk.
In Christ, for Life,
Lauren Muzyka
