Saving Kingdom – Part 2

After meeting Sidewalk Advocate Melissa outside the abortion facility, Mom K was no longer alone.

The remainder of her pregnancy consisted of prayer, friendship, and real help from our Sidewalk Advocates for Life team and other partner ministries. Mom K received everything her family needed from a fully-funded baby registry, help with vehicle repairs, and assistance with her utilities. One day while Mom K was cleaning her home and praising God to the old Gospel hymn “Strong,” she too felt stronger, and the lyrics reminded her of SAFL’s support. At that moment, she called Melissa to express her gratitude, and joyfully accepted Melissa’s offer to accompany her for the baby’s birth.

“Melissa came to the hospital with me so that I wouldn’t be alone. She even cut the baby’s cord. She is now my children’s aunt. I really appreciate her because I didn’t have anyone else.”

Mom K felt inspired by the Lord to name her baby Kingdom Destin for the phrase, “kingdom come,” and because he was destined to be here. The hospital staff was brought to tears by this miraculous story, and after learning about SAFL’s program and Mom K’s brave choice, a nurse told her, “You are a powerful woman; you can really make a difference!”

That is precisely what this beautiful mom is determined to do. With SAFL’s continued support, she plans to become a nurse and a Sidewalk Advocate! “What made me decide to share my experience was knowing that so many other moms are in the same situation or feel the same way I did. If God can use me, then I’m all for it. (A)ny mom that feels like they can’t, they can. Just as simple as that.”
