The Awe-Inspiring Power of the Body of Christ

Special Message from President & CEO Lauren Muzyka:

Keeping up with post-Roe America can be exhausting. It’s like being embroiled in a state-by-state battle 24/7.

This summer, we applauded when North Carolina’s governor signed into law a 12-week ban of abortion and rejoiced when Indiana’s near-total ban of abortion went into effect. Sadly, the governor of neighboring Illinois responded with his commitment to welcoming abortion tourism to his state. And just last week, a proposal that could help protect Ohio residents from abortion failed to pass.

Regardless of the status of abortion in each state, we can share the enduring love of Christ for each and every mother and family considering abortion. And thanks to your support, we remain steadfast in our commitment to being His hands and feet on every sidewalk, for every soul we encounter.

Recently, I saw the awe-inspiring power of the Body of Christ when united for this critical cause during my visit to the Utah state capitol.

I was honored to speak at the Utah Worship for Life event, praying for an end to elective abortion in Utah as the state’s highest court heard arguments in the case challenging the state abortion ban. I was captivated both by the beauty of Utah and the YES of the pro-life community there. Victory is imminent because this community will not give up until Utah protects innocent human life and mothers from the horror of abortion.

As I traveled home, I was compelled to share this moment with you, so that you would know that the Sidewalk Advocates in Utah and across the U.S. will not give up. No matter what you see in the news or on social media, be assured we are not backing down until every abortion and abortion-referral facility is covered and every abortion-vulnerable mother knows of real help and hope.

While the abortion battle is being waged state by state, make no mistake, it remains a national tragedy as the abortion industry and its supporters push vulnerable mothers to cross state lines or take dangerous mail-order abortion drugs. We must stand together to bring an end to abortion in every state, for every mother and child.

We are so grateful for the courageous commitment of our Sidewalk Advocates and the sacrificial generosity of our Ministry Partners who have helped save nearly 21,000 lives, guided 87 abortion workers to quit this killing industry, and witnessed the closing of, now, 48 abortion facilities.

To God be the Glory! Onward!!

Stand with us today by making a gift at sidewalkadvocates.org/donate. Every gift will be DOUBLED by our summer-match-challenge through August 22. These funds are urgently needed so we may continue to go and grow into EVERY community plagued by abortion. We can’t do it without you!

Facilities closed:

The permanent closure of an abortion or abortion-referral facility that had a Sidewalk Advocates for Life presence.

Workers who quit:

An abortion worker who was influenced by prayer and sidewalk advocacy to leave the business. We refer all workers to And Then There Were None, a ministry that assists abortion workers in transitioning out of the industry.

Hopeful saves:

A “hopeful save” is recorded when a pregnant woman leaves the abortion/abortion-referral facility still pregnant to “think about it,” armed with life-affirming literature and a referral to the local pregnancy resource center

Babies saved:

A baby is recorded as a “save” when a pregnant woman accepts our offer of help at the local pregnancy resource center (PRC), verbally shares that she has chosen life, or gives us very clear signs that she has chosen life.
