Truly the Widow’s Mite

I marvel at where God sends me in this ministry. Everywhere I travel, I meet God’s people and have opportunities to invite them in a variety of ways into what He is doing to save lives and end abortion …and I always seem to find these hidden saints that just blow me away!

Recently, I gave a presentation of Sidewalk Advocates for Life’s vision in the outskirts of Midland, TX, and people from the local church piled into this beautiful refinished barn to offer their prayers and financial support.

I was so deeply touched by their generosity.

And I was even more overcome by these two beautiful little girls. At the very end, they walked up to me alongside their dad and shared that they were pooling together their allowance to make a total financial gift of $250 so they could save babies.

Truly the widow’s mite. I wanted to cry. (Mark 12:41–44)

I just hugged those girls and looked them in the eye and thanked them for saving babies. They were all lit up inside.

Their parents told me that, when the family left, the girls THANKED their parents for letting them to come so they could give and save babies.

As if that wasn’t enough … I also met women from a local ministry that serves parents who receive news of a prenatal diagnosis. They make gowns for stillborn babies before burial and bears that have a recording of baby’s fetal heartbeat for the parents.

Thank you, Lord, for bringing me to God’s country and God’s people!

If you would like to join these two young women in saving babies, we welcome your support: sidewalkadvocates.org/give. Plus, donations made now through April 20 will be doubled by a generous matching gift!

Facilities closed:

The permanent closure of an abortion or abortion-referral facility that had a Sidewalk Advocates for Life presence.

An abortion worker who was influenced by prayer and sidewalk advocacy to leave the business. We refer all workers to And Then There Were None, a ministry that assists abortion workers in transitioning out of the industry.

Hopeful saves:

A “hopeful save” is recorded when a pregnant woman leaves the abortion/abortion-referral facility still pregnant to “think about it,” armed with life-affirming literature and a referral to the local pregnancy resource center

Babies saved:

A baby is recorded as a “save” when a pregnant woman accepts our offer of help at the local pregnancy resource center (PRC), verbally shares that she has chosen life, or gives us very clear signs that she has chosen life.
