WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL (JANUARY 11-17, 2015): “WHAT’S IN STORE”

By Lauren Muzyka

Verse(s): “…Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love him.” — 1 Cor 1:2:19

Reflection: Here we are — a brand new year, a fresh start, and a time to move forward with our dreams!  In short, a year, full of so many wonderful possibilities!

When I sit here and think about the next 11-12 months, I cannot help but wonder at all the blessings God has in store for us.  Who knows what ways the pro-life caused will be advanced!  How many babies will be saved?  How many hearts transformed?  How many workers will leave the business?  How many more abortion facilities will close?  And how will it be accomplished?

We have no idea!  Still, one thing we are sure of — if we show up, God will.  When God’s people pray, seek his face, turn from their wicked ways and put their faith into action (cf. 2 Chron 7:14) …miracles happen!  One only need look around and see what happens when people of faith and conscience spring into action!  Yes, there may be times that we experience a lull or wonder if our prayers are being heard, but we are guaranteed an eventual victory if we do not give up! (cf. Gal 6:9).

Call to Action: Let’s get on our knees, ask God for a powerful 2015 for the cause of life, then resolve to follow through on what He would have us do!  The blessings are out there and ours for the taking if we resolve to walk with Him and put our living faith into action!

Facilities closed:

The permanent closure of an abortion or abortion-referral facility that had a Sidewalk Advocates for Life presence.

Workers who quit:

An abortion worker who was influenced by prayer and sidewalk advocacy to leave the business. We refer all workers to And Then There Were None, a ministry that assists abortion workers in transitioning out of the industry.

Hopeful saves:

A “hopeful save” is recorded when a pregnant woman leaves the abortion/abortion-referral facility still pregnant to “think about it,” armed with life-affirming literature and a referral to the local pregnancy resource center

Babies saved:

A baby is recorded as a “save” when a pregnant woman accepts our offer of help at the local pregnancy resource center (PRC), verbally shares that she has chosen life, or gives us very clear signs that she has chosen life.
