What Real Help Looks Like

Mia and I were standing on the sidewalk with our brochures, gift bags, and the “free pregnancy help’” sign when we noticed a young woman approaching the building. I initiated the conversation with my usual smile and greeting. It was clear that she was conflicted and unhappy. After a few minutes of talking, hugging, and crying, she agreed to go with Mia to the pregnancy help center where her boyfriend met them.

We held the couple in prayer, and by God’s amazing grace, she chose life! But there were complications in the relationship with her boyfriend. We assured her that we were here for her if she ever needed friends and gave her our phone numbers in addition to the resources from the pregnancy center.

After a few months, Mia received a text from the mom with a picture of the 14-week ultrasound! And just last week, she shared that she’s having a boy and already has a name for him! Praise the Lord! The loving presence on the sidewalk truly makes a difference.
